Happy in Houston...

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything on this web page.

Let's see: I've moved to Houston. Yeah, Baby! I am having the time of my life. Seriously!

I have dived into my new job with a month long VBS program and reading program at the same time. I love all of my kids and building great relationships with them.  I have started building friendships with my reading teachers and currently working on a "thank-you project" for them.  I love my VBS interns. They are some of the coolest peeps ever. I think I have made friendships for life here. We have bonded and mesh so well together. We go to movies, to co-ed sleepovers, to going out to eat, to late night chats, and just sitting and going to Starbucks forever.

At my new job, I think its because I am a "newbie and happen to be female" that I swear everyone is trying to "hook me up". I'm like people "I'm here to minister to children not to get the "hook up"! Anyways, they make me laugh and it keep things interesting.

My roommate, whose also the other children's minister, is also told she needs to get the "hook up". So, basically, our friend decided to make a phone call to several friends of his (granted they all go to our church) to have coffee this Friday. So, Friday I will be sipping a Chai Tea Latte at a Starbucks chatting with a bunch of single peeps. :)

Even though my roommate thinks I am getting married in a year but I don't know where she is getting that ridiculous notion in her head! :)

Some fun things I have done since I have been to Houston: I saw Superman Returns in 3 d at the IMAX which was cool, went to the Children's Museum, went to the zoo, went to the Astros Baseball game against the Cardinals, went to Splashtown, and of course played in the park when it poured down rain.

Drama Kids Rock...

My drama kids rocked at their opening night in front of about 60-100 of their peers. They did an outstanding job! All their hard work, commitment, and dedication paid off! Awesome!
I will be making my way to Texas next week! Woot! Woot! So excited...Good things should happen...:)
Also on a good note, I ran into an old APOer at Walmart. Derek. That kid is awesome! He, Diana, and Sydney live near me.. I am going to have to visit soon:)
        Peace out!

One of the Best Nights of My Life..

The concert of Michael Buble' just rocked my socks off! He is just the hottest thing! I went to his concert last night with two great gals and had an absolute blast. I danced in the aisles and cheered until my voice gave out. It was an amazing night. Love it! Love it!

For those of you who want to know what's going on in my life. Exercise. Study. Work. Church. --not in any particular order
Exercise: Oh, my gosh I am so out of shape! Yesterday, I walked on the treadmill very fast paced walking for about two miles and felt like I was going to die! I was thinking if this is it, I don't won't go like this. Gees! Anyway, My goal for tommorrow is to do two miles on the treadmill and maybe break into a jog! But, we shall see!
Work. I love work. I love my kids. They make me laugh and I worry about them alot when they have to go home.
Studying...It's been very good! I have been taking online assements and quizzes to see how well I have retained the information and have been doing well.
Church: Aw, Church is rocking my socks off. I am loving what I am doing in the youth ministry. It's all coming togethering!
          Toodles.

Holidays, Happiness, and the Horrible Question:
                       Life of Chevydom

        The Horrible Question:
I had my share of folks come up to me and ask, , "Did you get married over break?" Seriously.... Seriously.. That's all I am saying on that subject...
To all those that want to know I'm on a 5 year plan!

Holidays:
They were awesome! God has blessed my life and those I love and care about in so many awesome ways. It was so great to see Matthew! Even though, my time was brief with him I am so glad that I got to chat with him. May the Lord continue to watch over him and bless his work.  I had such a great time house sitting, studying like mad crazy, night on the towns with my peeps, and catching up on some old time favorites. I love watching movies in your PJ's all day! It's a great experience!  I also have the creative bug gnawing at me and started furiously writing again and started scrapbooking!  I also caught up on my e-mail writing to all those folks who had written me and I had been naughty and haven't written you back. I also still have a few surprises for some of my peeps through snail mail. I am still working on sending it!
Happiness: For those of you who are happy, Yeah! Awesome...and for those of you who are not quite there ...my thoughts it will happen!
           Welcome to the new Year!
